I have a dad who says some things
That really cannot be true.
He weaves tall tales and little lies
And thinks it makes him sound cool.
He told me I had 3 siblings
But then I saw I had more.
He said he fought a few bad guys
Who tried to rob a drug store.
He said he met the president
And had coffee with him too.
He walked the March with MLK
Yet he was born in ‘62.
He said he once dated Oprah
And was a spy for the feds.
He even rescued a small dog
And gave it life saving meds.
He was recruited to the mob.
He owns cars we’ve never seen.
He has gold bars in his safe.
He’s one big lying machine.
I don’t know why he has to fib.
It’s something he does a lot.
If only he would realize
We would listen if he’d stop.
